As Americans we can not effectively end child abuse without first recognizing the abuser and then providing them with rehabilitation, in addition to protecting abused American children.
Focusing on how we can end abusive cycles for future American generations is a public health crisis that often goes over looked and silently accepted. "oh, she is just a Broken Mom, she will never change." We believe that it is unacceptable to let a Broken Mom go without recognition and treatment. We have seen some of the most Broken Moms who never thought change was possible, their families gave up on them, their kids still do not speak to them...but with the help of our Ministry we have seen miraculous changes in these Recovering Broken Moms. Ultimately this translates into healthy productive American Citizens....American Mothers, the back bone, the heart, the strength of America. We work hard to lift up Broken Moms as our American duty to the millions of Broken Moms who feel they have no voice, we speak up for them, won't you join us? www.brokenmoms.com
The First Step Towards Change Is Awareness. The Second Is Acceptance.
Our organization is a nationwide public awareness campaign that was created in 2006 through the vision and courage of Founder Liana Preble. We are dedicated to reaching moms who are struggling in motherhood and suffering in silence due to shame, fear and the stigma that is attached to struggling moms in our society. Over the past two years through our online communities we have provided and successfully intervened thousands of mothers in hundreds of circumstances who were suffering in silence. Regardless of your childs age, if you are suffering and need help please reach out to the services we provide or contact us. You don't have to suffer, help is available.
Pick up the phone and make calls. As a full-time working mother of 3 little kids, this was ONE thing I COULD do to support Obama, and to make a difference. In all honesty, people who heard my kids screaming or playing around in the background were much more response, and KNEW that this was something I was doing because I BELIEVED in it. I'm doing this FOR my kids. I have limited minutes on my cell phone, and have racked up enough long-distance charges on my land-line that it will take several months to pay off.... but it's WORTH it. I don't have the money to donate to the campaign, but I think that my calls are worth more than the few dollars they cost. I've 'met' many people in many different situations, and although I take the good with the bad - the majority of people are very gracious. CALL. MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!!!!!!

Nearly a third of American voters are expected to cast their ballots before election day, testimony of the enthusiasm about the contest between Barack Obama and John McCain.
Preliminary evidence from battleground states suggests that the record levels of early voting is strongly benefiting Obama, giving him a cushion against a late surge by McCain.
More than 30 states now allow early voting, in person or by mail, and past experiences of chaos on election day mean more voters are interested in casting their ballot early.
The Obama camp in particular has devoted resources to mobilising its supporters for early voting.
Paul Gronke of the Early Voting Information Centre now predicts about 30% will cast their votes before November 4.
Voting in some battleground states, such as Pennsylvania, has been under way since mid-September. That coincides with McCain's slide in the polls. Florida and Colorado began voting this week.
Together with the Obama camp's emphasis on early voting, that has fuelled a sense of optimism among Democrats about their prospects against McCain.
A new poll of five battleground states that voted for George Bush in the 2004 elections showed Obama holding a sizeable advantage among early voters.
Only a fraction of the electorate - 10% in most cases - had voted by the time of the SurveyUSA poll, but Obama's lead in some cases was formidable. That defies past experience of early and absentee voting, which was once the preserve of older voters who were unsure they could get to the polls on election day. Traditionally, that constituency has favoured Republicans.
But since the 2004 elections, Democrats have encouraged their supporters to take part in early voting - in part because of suspicion about long lines and breakdown of ballot machines on election day.
The new emphasis on early voting has changed the mechanics of campaigning, with the Obama camp devoting resources to getting their supporters to the polls well ahead of election day.
Democratic organisers have already seen a big increase in early voting in Ohio, one of the states Obama is hoping to capture from the Republicans.
Only 6% of Ohio voters cast early ballots in 2004. By October 13, the number of early voters was 12%, and Obama was leading McCain by 18%.
"You are going to see committed partisans turning out, the most enthusiastic supporters of either candidate and polling has shown that the level of enthusiasm is higher among more people for Obama than for McCain just now," said Dan Seligson at electiononline.org.
In North Carolina, which only weeks ago had been seen as a sure bet for the Republicans, Obama had a 34% lead among the 5% of the electorate who took part in early voting.
That compares to a 5% lead for McCain in the state.
The same scenario was unfolding in another state once seen as an unlikely prospect for the Democrats: Indiana. Among the 14% of voters who have already cast their ballots, Obama was leading by 34%.
In New Mexico, Obama had a 23% lead among the 10% of voters who had mailed in their ballots before October 13. Among the overall population, Obama's lead is only 6%.
Some Democrats now believe the surge in early voting could help the party deepen its hold on Congress - even in states which Obama has no hopes of carrying in the election.
In Georgia, which is seen as a staunchly Republican state, Obama had a 6% advantage among early voters. Some 18% of the electorate had cast their ballots at the time of the survey.
After the debate last night, I noticed that many c ommentators failed to notice the lack of answers given via McCain. As they repeatedly stated that he out debated Obama and gave him a lesson in foreign policy, I wondered what debate they were actually watching for 97 minutes. Each time McCain was to answer a question all he did was attempt to bash Obama. Between his illgotten attempts to downplay Obama's stance on various issues, McCain was busy cutting him off, snickering (in order to defelct attention away from his lack of answers) and talking over Obama when ever an untruth spewed from McCain's mouth was about to be refuted.
Obama handled himself with extreme grace under pressure. I am very impressed with his calm composure & his ability to speak directly to the questions posed and not regarding his oponent. I was taught long ago that a great salesmen is one that focuses on what he can do for you and the validity of his company/service/product. A poor or "shady" salesman spends all of his time defaming his competitor. I will allow you to draw your own conclusion.
Yesturday, Sen. McCain stated that he would take a break from capaigning so that he could return to Washington & assist in finding a viable solution to our economic crisis. Yet, I saw him plastered all over every news outlet throught the day, night and today. He went from Letterman, to Couric, to MSNBC, etc. I never knew that taking a break to help Congress could be so public and exhausting. Did you? Especially since Congress has been working on a resolution since last Thursday and many of its delegates admitted that did not need either of the candidates. HHHHHMMMMM......I sense an attempt at a hoodwinking. :)
Oh yeas, let us not forget the wonderfully unhelpful interview Katie had with Palin. It is amazing how many times one can say the word Russia and never come to a validating meaning/ending. Poor Palin could not successfully answer a single question, from the mundane to the moderately difficult. This was not a Barbara Walters interview. Leaves you to wonder......if she can't handle an interview, what can she handle?
I am quite tickled by the ads from the opposing camp, borrowing the change tagline for their own use. Unfortunately, the only change that they would bring to the White House would be a change in face, not politics or standards. It is time that the average American family (you know, those that keep this contry going) are given the recognition and means that they are in need of. We as a people, regardless of sex, orientation, ethnic background, etc. need to let the world know that no longer are we ignorant of our own policies and governement. We need to show that we care about our counrty and the people within them.
Many people have confessed to me that they would vote for Palin because she is female and would be the voice of women. What? I am a woman and have been my entire life. I do not see Palin being a voice for me. As a woman, there are a plethra of issues that concern and effect me. I need a candidate that will represent me as a whole. Not merely me as a woman. I need a candidate that will bring my friends and family home from the war, and revitalize the economy. I need a candidate that will show appreciation for me taking responsibility for my family, and providing viable means for my children to grow and prosper.
Maybe, the republican party is praying that I am against the norm of women out there and I desire a simply change of face in the Oval Office and a fellow woman to lead from the second chair.
Last night I was watching an interview with Palin's husband. He commented that the people ot Alaska like to refer to him as the "First Dude" and the person conducting the interview stated that they did not know how to properly refer to him. The young lady asked if he prefered any of the following: the future First Man, Mr. Palin, First Man Palin, etc. At this point I was utterly amazed at the lack of focus of the republican party and public at large. Palin is not running for President! He would be none of those things! McCain would have to die! McCain is who is the main act on this ticket!
People are claiming that they would vote for McCain due to Palin. I suggest that we send everyone back to elementary school and refresh them on the job description of the VP. If I were McCain, I would not be attempting to hold my head so high. I have been overshadowed by miniscule experiance!
Correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't McCain been criticzing Obama's amount of experiance? Then, what happens? Could it be that Mr. can't use a computer, middle-class families make millions, I'm a "good ol boy" chooses Mrs. I volunteer on the fishing boat, I have no large town experiance (let alone nation or international experience) as a running mate. Yea that makes perfect sense! I am beginning to sense some tensions & separation within the ranks of the republican party. Why else would McCain choose the Gov. of Alaska as his running mate? Many speculate its age or that she would attracr the female vote.......let us not forget that Congrees is chocked full of more qualified candidates.
Yippy! What a great ticket there...father time & Pebbles Flinstone! No disrespect, but are you serious? Every media outlets are reporting countless stories pertaining to Palin. Unfortunately, the vast majority point out her being an avid basketball player, assisting her husband with his business, participating in yoga class, being 2nd runner up in a beauty pagaent, and skinning animals. Really not the resume I am looking for in a candidate, but maybe there are those that are. Locally, I am bombarded with easily suade drones that like to pint out changes that she made in Alaska. Hello! It's Alaska! No one is talking about her NRA membership, or her seat on the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission.
But, I have heard repeatedly that she is sending her eldest son off to fight in the war. HHHHMMMMMMM....Let's really think about this. How much control do our parents generally have when it comes to we adults choosing whether or not to sacrafice our own lives? That is sad. "Pimping" your children for votes. It is he that will be fighting...not her.
A few days ago I had an interesting encounter with two individuals who stated that they were Palin supports (yet not McCain supports). This, of course, intrugued me quite a bit. I wanted to know why they were so pro-vp and so anti-presidential. The conversation simply became more bizarre from there. I started by reminding the pair that chould McCain win, he would have to either die or be incapacitated in order for their "dream candidate" to become commander in chief. This did not phase either of them.
From there, the female of the two informed me that she was, "Well aware that Palin was mostly anit-women's issues," and that, "she was (possibly) taking away many of her own rights." This caused a great deal of head scratching. So I repeated back to the woman what she had just said and asked her to explain to me, how that was beneficial to her in particular (since it was overly evident that she was FEMALE). CRICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I decided to ask the obvious question....."Why not Obama?" Guess what.....CRICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So being the avid supporter that I am, I proceeded to give them a bit of food for thought. Pro-Choice info., energy info., plan for backing out of the war, etc., etc. Then there was a glimmer of life. The pair looked at eachother and admitted that the only reason that had considered the McCain/Palin ticket was because the media had been ridiculing Palin for being Pentacostal.
I know.......hard to believe that people use more sense and forthought when completing their March Madness brackets than they do choosing a President.
It seems to me that there are a lot of different people who are trying to "lead" in the the dance of politics; this the first day of the DNC. Tempers flare about "I want a woman. I voted for Hillary. I voted for Edwards. I will vote for McCain instead because I want MY vote to count."
The fact of the matter is-- your vote did count. Your vote WILL count. And it could count against millions of people who felt the same way you did about any of the important issues. By voting for McCain, you are in efffect voting AGAINST many of the people who stood by you and want all the same freedoms and liberties that made you want to vote for Mrs. Clinton.
But the NATIONAL election isn't about YOU. It isnt about ME. Its about the future of OUR country. Lets start working together people! That is what Democracy, and the Democratic Party is all about.
If you supported Hillary because you thought her the right person for the job, does it now not make sense to place your trust in her decision making abilities and wholeheartedly support the candidate that she will be supporting? If you thought her wise enough, capable enough, competent enough to deserve your vote for president (which many of us did/do), then why not follow her lead and cast a vote for Obama, as she will be doing?
The truth is, while it is very sad and disappointing to see the candidate you support not get the nomination, this does not mean you do not step back and take a good hard look at what is best for the greater good of the country. That is, after all, what the entire election process is about. Put down the anger and feelings of ill will and get on board to unite the party. There are other more pressing issues that need to be resolved. Creating a divisive situation and then casting a vote for the opposing side as a protest vote is NOT the smart thing to do as it will have lasting repercussions that may just be irreparable.
Think long and hard before you throw away the chance for an Obama win. Think about the next person who will be appointed to the Supreme Court... who would you rather have choose that person-- a Democrat whose views are in alignment with yours, or someone more like George Bush?
Its not just about you. Its about the entire country now and when our children inherit our government.
UNITED we stand. Divided WE Fall.

The past 7 years W. has virtually ruined the reputation of our great nation. I honestly cannot understand why here at home McBush is as close in the polls as he is. Here in CT, Obama's lead is insurmountable. But when I see that in some states, not only is McAncient running a close race, but he's actually in the lead! America needs to wake up and understand that we simply cannot afford another 4 years of the same.
"We are the change we've been waiting for"
The speech Obama gave yesterday to a crowd of over 200,000 proves to the world that when he is elected president he can and he will undo the damage that's been done by W. and his administration.
